High-pitched campaign for Ph-6 draws to a close in state

Patna: The high-pitched campaign for the sixth and penultimate phase of Lok Sabha elections drew to a close in the state on Thursday with top netas of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and opposition INDIA bloc leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters.While the NDA netas continued attacking the Congress and its allies, particularly the RJD in the state, over dynastic politics and “minority appeasement”, the opposition INDIA bloc tried to pin the BJP down by raising bread-and-butter issues like inflation and unemployment.Eight constituencies in the state – Valmikinagar, Paschim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Vaishali, Gopalganj, Siwan and Maharajganj – will go to polls in the sixth round.Like in some of the previous phases, Prime Minister Narendra Modi boosted the morale of the party cadres and tried to strike a chord with the electorate by addressing twin election rallies in Maharajganj and Purvi Champaran Lok Sabha constituencies on May 20. The PM had also stayed at Patna on May 19 night. Earlier, he had paid tributes to late Sushil Kumar Modi by visiting his house. The PM had given a pep talk to BJP functionaries at the party office the same night.While top NDA netas, including the PM, CM Nitish Kumar, BJP president J P Nadda, Union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh and CMs of Assam and UP, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Yogi Adityanath, respectively, have so far led the charge of the ruling dispensation in the state, it has been RJD’s Tejashwi Prasad Yadav all the way in the opposition camp since the launch of electioneering in the state.Tejashwi held incessant meetings and scored a double century as far as addressing election rallies in company of Vikassheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahani is concerned
