HC CJ stresses on students’ character building

Patna: For a change, it was fair-like scene on Saturday at the city’s school, Krishna Niketan, which otherwise wears a serene look with students attending lectures in their classrooms. For, the school was hosting a science and art exhibition at which its students showcased models prepared by them.
Patna High Court’s acting CJ Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari, who was the chief guest on the occasion, underlined the need for overall personality development of students apart from imparting them education through books.Addressing the school students, he said emphasis should be on building character, inculcating moral values in them and ending gender-based discrimination.
Talking about the relation between the school and the judiciary, Justice Anasri said, “School gives education to children and judiciary secures their future.” After taking a dekko at the models displayed by the students at the exhibition, Justice Ansari appreciated their efforts. He talked to them about the utility and limitations of science.
The students had displayed models on the use of energy, water conversation, building and road construction, safety measures against earthquake and disaster management. ‘Sambhalne ka pal hai, jal hai to kal hai’, was the slogan of the event. Crafts made of bamboos, clothes and mud were also showcased at the exhibition. The students and their parents also enjoyed sumptuous eatables at the food stalls put up on the occasion.
Acharya Sudarshanjee Maharaj also addressed the gathering. Others present on the occasion were school’s vice-chairman Coomar Arunodya, manager Krishna Mohan Singh and principal Pushpa Singh. Arunodaya announced that the best models would be awarded at a function later.
