Campaign vehicle of HAM-S attacked

Gaya: A group of people allegedly attacked the campaign vehicle of Hindustani Awaam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) on Thursday in Pachmah village under the Bankebazaar police station area. They tore down the posters on the vehicle, assaulted the driver and issued threats to prevent the campaign vehicle from moving in the area.Following the incident, Azmat Khan, the Bankebazaar block president of HAM-S, filed a case at the local police station against four known and eight unknown people. Police have detained one person related to the incident. HAM-S spokesperson Nandlal Manjhi said supporters of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were behind the attack.Deepa Kumari of HAM-S, daughter-in-law of Union minister for micro, small and medium enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi and wife of state minister Santosh Kumar Suman, is the NDA candidate contesting from the Imamganj constituency. The byelections to the Imamganj and Belaganj assembly seats will be held on November 13."The detained man is being interrogated. It came to light during the police investigation that playing a loudspeaker at high volume was the reason behind the incident. Sherghati-I SDPO K Ramdas and Bankebazaar SHO immediately reached the spot with police force," Gaya SSP Ashish Bharti said.
