Govt to unlock idle industrial land for new investment soon

Patna: The state govt will make around 100 acres of industrial land available to new investors by restoring it as reinvestable assets, industries secretary Kundan Kumar said after a review meeting on Saturday.

He said under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar, the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has made progress through the implementation of the Amnesty Policy 2025 and Exit Policy 2025 to revive closed and disputed industrial units and bring inactive land back into productive use.


Around 100 industrial units or cases have been resolved, which will strengthen asset management and improve investment flow, he said.

Kundan said these measures have paved the way for potential investment of Rs600-800 crore, which is expected to accelerate industrialisation and employment generation in the state.

“The Amnesty Policy provides a clear and time-bound opportunity to entrepreneurs whose industrial plots became inactive due to outstanding dues or compliance-related issues. Through a simple, transparent, and systematic process, they can revive closed units, protect existing investments, and restore employment opportunities. Except for cases already allotted to third parties, all eligible units can avail this one-time opportunity till March 31,” he said.

He added that the Exit Policy offers entrepreneurs a dignified exit route and resolves pending disputes, thereby making inactive land available again for fresh investment.

Industry stakeholders Subhash Kumar Patwari (BCCI), Sanjay Goenka and Amarnath Jaiswal (BIA), along with senior officials of the industries department and BIADA, attended the meeting.
