Government to acquire Ashok Paper Mill land for new industries: Deputy CM
Patna: The state govt will acquire 280 acres land of Ashok Paper Mill to start new industries there, deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary said while addressing a public meeting in Darbhanga during the Samridhi Yatra of CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday.
Samrat said after laying a strong foundation in health, education, roads, electricity, and water sectors, the govt is focussed on generating employment. “For this, a network of industries is being established in Bihar. The goal in the next five years is to create a Bihar where people do not have to migrate for work. People of the state should get employment in Bihar itself. Keeping this goal in view, the govt will acquire 280 acres of land belonging to Ashok Paper Mill and establish new industries there,” he said.
Samrat said Darbhanga is undergoing rapid transformation due to the schemes of the central and state govts. From the development of the city’s infrastructure to major projects like AIIMS and the airport, everything has been implemented on the ground. “The detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared for the Darbhanga Metro service. The international airport in Darbhanga will also become operational in the next one year,” he said.
BJP state president and local MLA Sanjay Saraogi thanked CM Nitish and said the entire Mithila region is undergoing a transformation.
“As the local MLA, I am especially happy that my constituency is being transformed,” he said. He claimed that after the completion of the ongoing projects, Darbhanga will no longer be the same. “It will become the second largest city after Patna in terms of size and development projects,” he said.
