Girl who fled Delhi with her boyfriend gang-raped in Bihar
PATNA: A 16-year-old girl who fled from Delhi was allegedly gang-raped by two men in East Champaran district on March 14 night.
The girl, a native of Bihar, who ran away from her house with her minor boyfriend also from the same state, was lured into a trap by the accused, who promised to help them find a place to stay after arriving at Bapudham railway station late on March 13.
The girl and her boyfriend, unaware of the danger, accompanied the accused to a secluded area, where they were taken to a rented house. The girl was sexually assaulted at the house, while her boyfriend managed to flee and informed the police.
The police raided the place and rescued the girl. Another abducted minor boy was also recovered from the spot.
While one of the accused was arrested, the other managed to flee. Raids are being carried out to arrest him, police said at a press conference held on Monday.
The girl, a native of Vaishali district, lives with her family in Delhi. Her boyfriend, a native of Motihari, also lives with his family in the same locality. They eloped together from Delhi on March 12 to reach Sitamarhi, the maternal grandfather’s house of the boyfriend, from where they came to East Champaran.
Motihari Sadar-1 SDPO, Dilip Kumar, said: “The accused demanded Rs 600 as rent and on the pretext of paying the money to the landlord took the girl to a room and committed the crime. In the meantime, one of the accused took the boy to a distant location and beat him up, then he returned to the room to commit gang rape with his friend. The boy somehow managed to escape and reached the Banjaria police station, where he reported the incident. The police soon rescued the girl and arrested one of the accused. However, the other accused, Tufail Alam, managed to escape.”
While the police were searching the house, where the crime was committed, another youth was recovered from a bathroom. During interrogation, he was identified as Udresh Kumar (16) of an area under Gadhiya police station in East Champaran.
He told the police that the criminals kidnapped him and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 lakh from his family.
The DSP said the arrested accused, Abbas Alam, is a resident of East Champaran, while Tufail is also a resident of the same area.
