Girl preparing for exam dies by ‘suicide’ in city

Patna: A young woman allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself in her rented accommodation in Patna's Jakkanpur police station area on Sunday. She was preparing for competitive exams in the city.
The police initiated an investigation and informed her family about the incident. The body was seized, and further legal proceedings will be carried out once her family arrives in Patna, they said. The exact reasons behind her death are yet to be ascertained, police said.
Jakkanpur SHO, Rituraj Kumar Singh, said: "The deceased has been identified as Neha Kumari (23). She was a native of Siwan district and was putting up in a rented accommodation in Postal Park area. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police team reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH)."
Singh further said the family members were informed about Neha's death. They took away the body with them to Siwan for cremation and other rituals. She was living in the rented room since last year.
"No suicide note was recovered from the scene. The family members also didn't mention any reason behind the extreme step. Further investigation is going on in the matter," added the SHO.
