PATNA: A notorious criminal of Muzaffarpur,
Raja Thakur, who had over a dozen cases lodged against him with various police stations of the district and was wanted by the police, was allegedly beaten to death by his rival gang. Thakur died on his way to the hospital on Friday morning.
His body was thrown in an unconscious state near Jiyalal Chowk under the Ahiyapur police station area.
Local SHO Vijay Kumar said on getting information, they rushed to the spot and took Thakur to hospital, but the latter died due to injury in his head.
He said prima facie it appeared that Thakur was badly thrashed by his rivals who later threw his body thinking he was dead.

Suraj on Thursday night and did not return home. She alleged Suraj had called her up to inform that he had beaten up and thrown her son's body. DSP Raghav Dayal said there were dozens of cases on Thakur in connection with murder, loot and illegal liquor trade lodged with different police stations.
Fuel stn employee robbed of ₹15k: Miscreants on Friday afternoon looted cash from the pocket of a filing attendant at a petrol pump located under the Mahnar police station area in Vaishali district on Friday afternoon.
Mahnar SHO R Pandey said the incident occurred around 2.30pm when miscreants who had come to take petrol ran away with Rs 15,000 in cash from the pocket of the attendant who was filling fuel. The pump belongs to a relative of a local JD (U) leader.
