'Frustrated' youth damages Muz DM's car

Muzaffarpur: Frustrated over prolonged inaction of the district industries department, a 30-year-old educated unemployed man from Panapur village under Kanti police station (PS) Mukesh Sahni chose an illegal way of expressing his anger and damaged the beacon light of Muzaffarpur district magistrate's car parked in his portico here on Wednesday.

According to Senior SP Ranjeet Kumar Mishra, Sahni has claimed that he was trying to obtain loan from the industries department to start some small cottage industries for the last five years but even after assurances, several times from previous DMs, other officers of the state government and banks, he had been denied any financial help. He became so frustrated that he attacked the DM's car. He denied that he was insane.
Sahni said he holds a post-graduate degree and wants to start his own industry of manufacturing spices with the knowledge he had acquired during his studies.
He met the successive DMs several times. He even met other officers and newsmen to seek their help. He spent a sum of Rs 3,500 in that process but got nothing in return. He said he got so frustrated that he chose the way of limited violence. He had wasted five years in seeking financial help and alleged that nobody in the government wants to help the poor.
DM Dharmendra Singh said he did not remember having met this youth but added that he is trying to collect information regarding the claims made by the youth.
