GAYA: Four persons were killed in three different incidents in Gaya district. Whereas three boys in the 14-20 age group were killed under Gaya Muffassil and Amas police station areas, one woman was killed in a road accident in which a three-wheeler collided head-on with a speeding truck under Bodh Gaya police station area.
The bodies of two men were recovered from the railway tracks near Ishwar Chaudhari halt on the eastern outskirts of the town while a 14-year-old boy was found murdered near Karmain Mor under Amas police station area.

The two bodies recovered from the railway track near the Ishwar Chaudhari halt were identified as those belonging to Shankar Paswan and Birendra Chaudhari aged about 18 and 20 years respectively. Both Paswan and Chaudhary are residents of Sheo Charan Lane of the Manpur locality of the town. From the injury marks on the bodies of Paswan and Chaudhari, it appeared that they were brutally thrashed with hard substances. The bodies have been sent to Anugrah Narain Magadh Medical College and Hospital, Gaya, for autopsy.
Clueless about the cause of the killing, the railway and the district police fought on the issue of place of occurrence. Virtually washing his hands off the incident, GRP officer in-charge GS Gupta said that the boys were killed somewhere else under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station and the bodies were dumped on the tracks. Disputing the GRP version, the Wazirganj DSP Rajan Sinha said that as the bodies were found on the track, the place of occurrence apparently fell under the railway police jurisdiction.
The other body recovered in the district was that of an unidentified 14-year-old boy. The boy’s throat had been slit open by the unidentified assailants. Confirming the incident, the Sherghati DSP Mahindra Prasad Dhanwantari said that the boy was killed elsewhere and his body dumped near Karmain Mor. The identity of the killed boy has not yet been established, said the DSP.
The motive of all the three murders that took place in the district at two different places remains a mystery. "Let us first establish the identity of the boy," said the Sherghati DSP. With the GRP and the Mufassil police at loggerheads over the issue of jurisdiction, the investigation of the double murder case appears to have gone for a toss.
In the road accident under the Bodh Gaya police station area, one woman was killed and five others injured. The injured have been rushed to ANMMCH where they are said to be out of danger.
