Four get life term in double murder case

, Jyoti Swaroop Srivastava on Friday awarded life imprisonment to four persons after they were found guilty in a double murder case. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 each on the quartet – Ratan Sah, Kaloo alias Ranjan, Nandan Kumar and Satish.

The four were held guilty under section 302 of IPC. Another accused in the case, Bikram Yadav, was sentenced to undergo 10 years rigorous murder. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 15,000 on Yadav.

Kumar, a student of Munger College and resident of Shankarpur village under Mufassil police station, was invited by some of his friends to participate in a birthday party on the banks of the Ganga near Sitakund Dih village on September 3, 2014. Rohit left his house for the venue in a motorcycle along with his friend Sanni. They, however, never returned home.

Rohit’s elder brother Rahul Kumar later lodged a complaint with Kashimbazar police station against the four persons – Ratan Sah, Kaloo alias Ranjan, Nandan Kumar and Satish – accusing them of killing his brother and Sanni. Although Rohit’s body could not be found, Sanni’s body was fished out from the Ganga near
