FORBESGANJ: Road construction department (RCD ) secretary-cum-special Araria district magistrate (DM) Pratyay Amrit said here on Tuesday that the authorities are perusing the footage of the videography to identify the anti-social and hooligans who indulged in violence during the two-day upheaval and mayhem across Forbesganj town on Friday and Saturday .

Amrit, talking to TOI on Tuesday, said, "The overall situation is quite under control and Monday was totally hassle-free and peaceful." Promising stern action against those who indulged into anti-social activities, the newly-appointed special DM said 13 anti-social elements have so far been rounded up, and all kinds of preventive action is already in place.
The CRPF's Rapid Action Force (RAF) is continuing with the round-the-clock patrolling and SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal ) personnel , too, are engaged in it . Such preventive action is there to ward off any relapse into petty disturbances, senior police officials said.
Normal life across the trouble-torn Forbesganj is back on its feet and schools, government offices and banks are working as usual, police said. Complimenting the town people for their exemplary restraint and maintaining harmony and peace despite provocation, Araria superintendent of police (SP) Mohammad Akhtar Hussain told TOI that steps are underway to serve notices under 107 CrPC to over 5,000 people who, in any way, tried to disrupt peace and indulged in blockade of the roads passing through the town. Besides, police are also conducting raids to apprehend the trouble-makers, he said.
Araria district BJP chief Chandrashekhar Singh 'Babban', in a statement to the TOI on Tuesday said town people of Forbesganj have set an example by exercising tremendous restrain despite obvious provocation.
"Even if there is a slip in respect of security during the Muharram procession on Friday night, the district authorities' prompt action and restraint had gone a long way in defusing the volatile situation," he told.
Former Union minister of state (MOS) and senior RJD leader Taslimuddin, talking to TOI on Tuesday, asked the district authorities not to harass the innocent people in any way so that peace returning process is not affected.
