Five miscreants held in Buxar
Buxar: Buxar police on Monday arrested five miscreants from different locations in the district in connection with a firing incident at a marriage hall earlier this month. Two country-made pistols and two empty cartridges were recovered from their possession.
The arrests relate to a shooting that took place on April 15 at a marriage hall under the jurisdiction of Muffasil police station, Buxar SP Shubham Arya said.
A special team led by Buxar SDPO Dheeraj Kumar was formed to investigate the case. Using CCTV footage, police identified six suspects. In the first phase, two people were arrested. Based on their information, Atal Singh alias Krishna Kumar Singh (resident of Sugar Mill), Mantu Singh (Chakra Hansi), Laxmikant Dubey (Pandey Patti), Aman Srivastava (Sondhila) and Bholu alias Amit Srivastava (Civil Lines) were arrested. Vishal Srivastava, a resident of Sondhila with over 21 criminal cases against him, had already been arrested and sent to jail earlier.
"Injured Abhay Singh is also the main accused in this case. After receiving medical treatment, he will be sent to jail," SP Shubham Arya said, adding that police are continuing their raids to arrest remaining suspects and recover additional weapons.
"Strict action against criminals will continue," he added.
