Biharsharif: Several lives were lost in separate incidents across Nalanda district in last 24 hours.
A wedding in Kasimchak village under Deepnagar police station area turned tragic early Tuesday when a dispute led to a man allegedly driving an SUV into a crowd, killing one Shankar Paswan and injuring Aman Mahto.
In another incident, a speeding car lost control near Mudhari village on NH-20, hit a divider and rammed into a motorcycle.
Bhushan Kumar, who was riding the motorcycle, died during treatment, while two others were referred to a higher medical centre. The driver of the car fled.
An unconscious man, Abhay Kumar Gupta from Odisha, was found in a parked car near Chauhan Mor and declared dead at a hospital. Police have launched a probe into the death of Gupta.
In yet another incident, the body of 70-year-old
Shyamdeo Paswan was found hanging from a tree in Mubarakpur village. Police said the exact cause of death will be known after investigation.
In a related incident late Monday night, one Manish Kumar (24) died after being run over by speeding motorcycles during a wedding procession.
Sadar DSP-II Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal said investigations were underway and all the accused would be arrested soon.
