FIR lodged over deaths of four minor girls in Aurangabad village
Aurangabad: Police on Monday registered an FIR in connection with the mysterious deaths of four minor girls, who allegedly consumed poison in Saidpur village under Haspura police station area.
According to SP Amrish Rahul, Haspura police station in charge received information on Sunday that five minor girls had consumed poison in Saidpur village, resulting in the death of four, while one girl is currently undergoing treatment.
Following the information, the Haspura SHO along with the SDPO of Daudnagar rushed to the spot and initiated inquiries. During preliminary investigation, villagers informed the police that the incident had actually occurred on Jan 29, when five girls allegedly consumed poison. Four of them died, and their families performed the last rites on the same day without informing the police, while the fifth girl survived and is under medical care.
Police officials said the families of the deceased girls were not found in the village during the inquiry, making it impossible to record their statements. The reason behind the alleged mass suicide remains unclear so far.
“The circumstances under which the girls consumed poison are still not known. We are questioning villagers and other relevant persons, and collecting evidence to ascertain the facts,” the SP said, adding that an FIR has been lodged at Haspura police station under appropriate sections of law.
IG , Magadh range, Gaya, along with the Aurangabad SP, also visited the village and inspected the site of the incident.
