RANCHI: An FIR was lodged against external affairs minister Yashwant Sinha for alleged violation of election code of conduct.

RANCHI: An FIR was on Sunday night lodged against external affairs minister and senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha for alleged violation of election code of conduct during a poll meeting in Ranchi on Sunday evening, sub-divisional officer B K Sinku said.
Besides Sinha, the FIR was lodged also against three other BJP leaders — C P Singh, Ranchi MLA, local leaders Sanjay Seth and Gama Singh — who took part in the meeting at Piska More, Sinku said.

The FIR was lodged at Sukhdev Nagar against Sinha and the three BJP leaders for alleged obstruction of traffic during a poll meeting, which comes under violation of election code of conduct, the SDO said.
"There was a street play followed by the poll meeting at Piska More which was attended by Sinha and three BJP leaders which disrupted traffic for two hours, this comes under violation of election code of conduct," the SDO said. PTI
Ranchi deputy commissioner Pradeep Kumar said, "video photographs of the meeting will be sent to the state chief electoral officer."
