Farmer shot dead in Khagaria village

Khagaria: Unidentified miscreants shot dead a farmer, Kaushal Singh (77), late on Tuesday night while he was asleep in verandah of his house at Satkhutti Tola in Nayagaon panchayat under Parbatta police station area in Khagaria district. The miscreants barged into Singh's house and fired at him, killing him on the spot.
After hearing the gunshots, his family members rushed to rescue him, but by then the miscreants ran away.
Enmity over a land dispute is said to be the reason behind the killing, SHO, Parbatta police station, Arvind Kumar, said. The body was sent to the sadar hospital for postmortem, police said.
