Fake notice targets Madhubani Medical College after Jamia row
Patna: Days after Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia flagged as “fake” a viral circular claiming that “nikah” would be arranged for any man and woman found together during Ramzan, a similar fake circular has surfaced in the name of Madhubani Medical College (MMC) in Bihar.The MMC administration has made it clear that the circular is completely fabricated and was never issued by the institution, even though it falsely carries the name and purported signature of principal Manzoor Ahmad Thokar.

The viral notice claimed that during the holy month of Ramzan, a boy and girl standing together on campus would face immediate marriage. It further stated that the couple would have to arrange their own ‘walima’ (reception). The purported circular read, “Please respect the sanctity of the college and avoid unnecessary closeness. In the event of violation, the couple will be responsible for arranging their own ‘walima’.College administrator Asim Zafar categorically denied its authenticity. “The circular is completely fake. The college will soon lodge an FIR with the cyber police in this connection,” he said.Established in 2018-19 under the patronage of Faiyaz Ahmad and run by the Milia Education Trust, MMC has more than 1,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The administration has reiterated that the circular is fake and that legal action will be initiated against those responsible.
