The CCTV footage of the daring Rs 10.09 crore robbery in a prominent showroom in Ara has revealed that an alleged accused bowed his head in reverence as his bike passed the famous Aranya Devi temple, seeking divine blessings just moments before executing the crime.

The footage, reportedly of March 10 morning, paints a surreal picture. Two men on a bike-one masked and helmeted, the other barefaced-drive through the bustling streets near Gopali Chowk.

As they pass the revered Aranya Devi temple, a site considered one of the holiest places of pilgrimage in the Shahabad region, the pillion rider clasps his hands together in devotion, paying his respect to the goddess believed to protect the town.

Little did the town know that within minutes, the criminal would commit a daring robbery in a jewellery showroom.

By 10.30am, a gang of half a dozen armed men stormed into a prominent jewellery showroom, executing their plan with precision, looting bags full of jewellery.
