PATNA:
CBSE’s 10th and 12th board exams are scheduled to be held in February. So, the students of class 10 and 12 have started girding up their loins. Students are now preparing themselves for the upcoming exams and utilizing their study breaks in the best possible way.
"I do follow a time-table as it is an effective way to manage time.
I devote at least eight hours a day to cover History, English, Legal Studies, Economics and Psychology. Since 70% to 80%, of my syllabus is already covered, I have started solving sample papers to understand how the framed questions need to be answered. This will not only help me to increase my marks but will also boost my speed and accuracy," said Lavanya Srivastava, a student of class 10 at DAV Public School.
Many students are also using the latest technologies for preparing for the exams. Naina Bhatnagar, a student of class 12 at St Karen’s High School said: "Creating my own voice note in the phone is the best tool for me to memorize any subject."
She added: "Consistency is the first important tool for me and second is to connect with real-life experience. Relate what you have studied to the things around you, this is highly important in science subjects along with theories. Taking my own mock tests is part of my daily schedule."
Satwee Singh, a student of St. Michael's High School, said, "Being a PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) student, the
board exam sounds a bit tough. But with a good strategy, it is in no way tough to crack it. The best technique, I find, is reverse study, which is, first referring to sample paper and deeply understanding what the paper actually asks for, what's important and what's not. Thereafter, getting back to the syllabus with a prepared mind increases my efficiency."
Teachers are also suggesting useful tips to students to prepare for the exams.
Balram Kumar Singh, a teacher at DAV, BSEB Colony, said: "Practising diagrams during breaks like the ongoing winter vacation saves time. Students should practise diagrams daily as they are helpful in grabbing marks in any answer. Students should read a chapter daily, as every time something new is discovered."
R K Poddar, a teacher at Notre Dame Academy, said: "Students of both class 10 and 12 should do as much practice as they can. They should understand the weightage of the chapters and focus on the important chapters first. Students of commerce should be well versed with the formulas and they should focus more on their calculations. Students should refer to two and more different model papers. Start preparing the notes which would help to make synopsis that would speed up revision, which is the most important part for the preparation of boards."
