PATNA: Bihar Police Men’s Association’s former president Jitendra Narayan Singh was arrested on Friday for constructing the sixth floor of SS Exotica Hotel on the land of Bihar State Housing Board (BSHB) near Rajeev Nagar police station. Rajeev Nagar police station SHO Rohan Kumar said BSHB executive engineer (in-charge) Zia-ul-Hassan had lodged a complaint against Jitendra as the hotel owned by him is illegal and mere 200 metres from the police station.
“Jitendra and nine workers have been arrested,” the SHO said, adding the BSHB official claimed the entire hotel built on two kattha land is illegal.

This is second such police action against illegal construction in Rajeev Nagar after rural works department sub-divisional officer (SDO) Suman Kumar and four others were arrested from Chandravihar Colony under Rajeev Nagar police station on October 8.
Five arrested with ganja: Five drug smugglers, including kingpin Hareram Gupta of Pandura in Bhojpur district, were arrested with 41kg ganja near Rajendra Nagar bridge under the Kadamkuan police station area on Friday. Police also seized Rs1.23 lakh and a cellphone from their procession.
One arrested: One Ashok Rai was arrested from Naya Tola under the Danapur police station area on Friday for giving shelter to the killers of Danapur ward councillor Kedar Rai. Rai was shot dead at Hathikhana in Danapur. Four persons had been arrested in the case. Danapur SHO Sandeep Kumar Singh said Ashok had harboured the killers at his rented accommodation in Naya Tola.
