Even 100 Shahabuddins can’t scare Bihar now: Shah in Siwan
Patna: Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday saluted the people of Siwan for rising against the terror and atrocities of late Md Shahabuddin, saying that even 100 Shahabuddins can’t harm the people now as there is the NDA govt of PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar.” He urged voters to reject Osama Shahab, the son of the former MP, who is contesting the Raghunathpur seat on an RJD ticket.
Referring to Shahabuddin, Shah recalled that the people of Siwan had elected BJP’s Om Prakash as MP against him, urging citizens not to allow the ideology of terror to prevail. “CM Nitish Kumar freed Bihar from jungle raj and the NDA is fighting this election under his leadership. Siwan was devastated by Shahabuddin, but PM Narendra Modi has brought it back on the path of development,” he said.
Addressing the public meeting in Buxar, Shah highlighted the NDA’s role in steering Bihar towards growth. “Nitish worked for 20 years to put Bihar on the path of development and PM Modi has given Bihar a new direction and momentum,” he said. Shah pointed to cultural landmarks and initiatives, saying that “PM Modi has made Buxar a part of the Ramayana Circuit, and the foundation stone of the grand temple of Mata Sita has been laid in Sitamarhi. Lalu opposed the Ram Temple at Ayodhya due to vote bank politics, but the people of Bihar will reply through their votes in this election.”
Shah also detailed several key development projects undertaken under the NDA, highlighting the increase in minimum support price for paddy from Rs 1,310 to Rs 2,370 and the reduction of tractor prices by 50%. He mentioned the approval of Rs 5,000 crore for canal upgrades in the Shahabad-Buxar region and the Kadamvan Reservoir Project, benefiting an area of 70,000 square kilometres. Infrastructure initiatives included the Ara-Buxar four-lane road, Buxar-Chausa four-lane road, the construction of the Ganga bridge between Buxar and Bharauli, and the reconstruction of Buxar, Chausa and Dumraon railway stations.
Educational and cultural projects were also highlighted, including the establishment of a medical college in Dumraon, the Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College and a music school named after Ustad Bismillah Khan. “A thermal power plant has been constructed in Chausa at a cost of Rs14,000 crore, and the Maharishi Vishwamitra Park in Buxar at a cost of Rs24 crore,” he added.
