Ensure all facilities for fish farmers in new building: CM
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Monday inspected the fisheries development building in the city’s Mithapur area and instructed the officials to ensure all the facilities for fish farmers in the new building.
The officials informed the CM that 120 farmers can be simultaneously given training in scientific and advanced techniques in the new building, which has been constructed under the Directorate of Fisheries on 2.43 acres land with a cost of Rs54.39 crore.
A hostel for trainers has also been constructed on the premises as the new building is equipped with a fish farming research centre and modern laboratories. Research and training activities related to the development of the fisheries sector will be conducted in this building, they informed the CM.
The CM instructed the officials to shift the dairy, fisheries and animal resources department to the new building as soon as possible. He also directed them to ensure that railings of sufficient height are installed on each floor of the building for safety purposes. He asked them to ensure all necessary facilities in this building so that fish farmers can benefit from it and Bihar can progress in the field of fisheries.
The state agriculture roadmap has led to an increase in the production of vegetables, milk, eggs, meat, fruits, and other crops, which is greatly benefiting the farmers. Every possible effort is being made to make Bihar a leading state in the field of fish production as well, officials said.
During the inspection, principal secretary to the CM, Deepak Kumar; secretaries to the CM, Kumar Ravi and Chandrashekhar Singh; secretary of dairy, fisheries and animal resources department, Shirshat Kapil Ashok; director of fisheries, Tushar Singla; DM Thiyagarajan SM and other senior officers were present.
