Elimination of gender bias essential: Expert

Patna: State development commissioner Vivek Kumar Singh on Tuesday stressed on the need for micro level planning and a customized approach to improve the status of girls in the state.
Sinha was sharing his views at a state level workshop on ‘Shashakt beti, samridh Bihar’, organised by Women and Child Development Corporation (WCDC) in association with Unicef, Save the Children and Plan International.
WCDC chairperson-cum-managing director Harjot Kaur Bamhrah said the government has introduced several schemes to eliminate gender bias. “All the stakeholders and society should come forward to eliminate gender disparities. Girls should be self-dependent and in a position to take decisions themselves,” she added. TNN
