PATNA: Deputy election commissioner J P Prakash arrived here on a three-day visit to the state on Monday to review the poll preparedness in Patna, Lakhisarai, Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur districts. Prakash left for Lakhisarai after getting the first hand account of 14 assembly constituencies in Patna district.
The deputy election commissioner will be joining the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) S Y Qureshi and two election commissioners __ H S Brahma and V S Sampath __ who will be arriving here on a two-day visit to the state on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On October 12 there will be a meeting in Bhagalpur followed by one in Muzaffarpur on 13.
Prakash presided over the meeting of district election officer (DEO), Patna, senior superintendent of police, 14 returning officers, two election observers, representatives of central para military forces and the chief electoral offficer, Bihar, Sudhir Kumar Rakesh.

EC Prakash expressed satisfaction at the overall poll preparedness.
He also asked the ROs to provide all possible assistance to voters so that they are able to exercise their franchise without any fear. Police teams were asked to be pro-active in maintaining the law and order in the district. Central para-military forces should start domintaing the areas, he said during the meeting.
