Delhi University from Bihar aspirants keep fingers crossed

PATNA: Like previous years, several students from the state are eyeing admission in Delhi University colleges this year too. The admission process in DU started on May 30 and the last date for submission of admission forms for undergraduate courses is June 14. The first cutoff list is likely to be released June 20.


Admission will be done on the basis of marks scored in Class XII board examinations as well as entrance exam to be conducted by the DU for certain courses.

College. Though chances of my name figuring on the first cutoff list are thin, I hope to make the cut later on,” he said.

Pratyush Sinha, who passed Class XII from Loyola High School with 96% in humanities, wants to pursue geography honours from DU’s Kirori Mal College.

Notre Dame Academy topper Esha has applied for political science and history honours courses in DU. Miranda House, Lady Sriram College, Hansraj and Hindu College are her preferred choices.

Yashashvi Suman is quite confident that with 95% marks, she would be able to secure admission in DU. “I want to pursue English honours course,” she said. Yashashvi has also started preparing for UPSC exam.

Anushka, a Class XII passout from Loyola High School, wants to pursue BCom course. “Lady Shriram College and Hindu College are my preferred choices,” she said.

Sheetal Tiwari, another DU aspirant from the city, said it’s a matter of great relief that the university is not admitting students only on the basis of marks obtained in Class XII, but also taking entrance examination this year. “I want to study political science,” she said.
