Doctor writes to CM demanding salary pending for 18 months

salary

, which has been denied since he was regularized in May last year. Earlier, he was working on contract.

Dr Piyush has written a letter to the CM on Tuesday with a copy to state health minister Mangal Pandey, principal secretary (health)

R K Mahajan

and director-in-chief of

State Health Society

in this regard.

In his letter, Dr Piyush said he has been complaining about the same to the medical officer in-charge of

Saraiya PHC

and Muzaffarpur civil surgeon through a formal letter as well as through telephonic conversation since February this year. Till date, he did not receive any satisfactory reply. He also sent a similar complaint letter to Muzaffarpur district magistrate as well as additional director of Muzaffarpur health services.

When contacted, Dr Piyush said over the phone on Wednesday he has been doing the rounds of several offices for the past so many months. “I am the only doctor working at Gangolia APHC despite the fact that there is provision for two doctors there. I am undergoing lots of mental stress. I have a six-year-old daughter and my wife is expecting a baby soon. I have already borrowed money from my relatives. How long will I keep borrowing money?” said an agitated Dr Piyush.
