Dalai Lama to visit Bodh Gaya in Dec

GAYA: Buddhist spiritual leader, the 14th Dala Lama will visit Bodh Gaya in the district at the year end when he is scheduled to deliver three-day sermons to his disciples on December 29, 30 and 31.

According to the official website of the spiritual leader, he will give sermon on Nagarjuna's book 'In Praise of Dharmadhatu on the morning of December 31 on Kalchakra teaching ground, around 200 metres north west of the world heritage Mahabodhi Mahavihara. He will also confer the Manjushri Empowerment on his disciples.

The Dalai Lama will then attend a prayer ceremony to be held under the Geluk Tibetan Buddhist tradition for his long life on the morning of January 1 on the Kalchakra ground.

The Bodh Gaya temple management committee (BTMC) has also released the calendar of 20 annual events of world peace puja for the tourist season 2023-24. The annual events, in addition to the visit of the Dalai Lama, is likely to increase the tourist footfall and boost the economy of the heritage city.
