Cyberfraud gang busted in Gaya, 5 held

Gaya: Five cyberfrauds, involved in duping people in the name of providing jobs abroad, were arrested from a house during raids at Tetariya village under Sherghati police station area in Gaya district on Sunday evening. Police recovered 21 cellphones, a laptop, three motorcycles and other documents from their hideout. They used to steal data from passports and randomly call people in the name of sending them abroad for employment. "Acting on a tip-off that a cyber-gang was operating in the district, a special team headed by deputy superintendent of police-cum-cyber police station house officer, Sakshi Rai, was constituted. The team conducted raids at Tetariya village and arrested Vikas Kumar, Ganesh Kumar, Janmul Hussain, Jamil Akhtar, Md, Imruddin Ansari on Sunday evening. They confessed to their involvement in the cybercrime," said Gaya SSP Ashish Bharti on Monday.
