PATNA: A BSc-BEd student of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Madhulika Madhu, has been selected for a two-month summer internship programme at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai.CUSB public relations officer Mohd Mudassir Alam said, “Madhulika, a sixth semester chemistry student, will be trained by experts at the BARC from June.”According to assistant professor Amiya Priyam, the selection process was conducted at the national level by Indian Academy of Sciences-Bengaluru, Indian National Science Academy-New Delhi and National Academy of Sciences-Allahabad.A visibly delighted Madhulika expressed gratitude towards her faculty members. She said, “My study on spectrophotometry strengthened the possibility of my selection.”BIT-P: Birla Institute of Technology-Patna (BIT-P) director B K Singh opened a newly-constructed gym on the institute campus on Wednesday.Addressing the students, Singh threw light on the importance of good health. “A healthy mind lives in a healthy body,” he said.At least 80 workout stations are available in the gym, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh.
Approximately 100 students can use the gym at a time.St Xavier’s College of Education: At least 41 teacher trainees (MEd and BEd) of the 2018-2020 session participated in a blood donation camp organized by St Xavier’s College of Education in collaboration with Kurji Holy Family Hospital on Wednesday.While the doctors’ team was headed by officiating medical officer Dr Reena Ranjan, the technical team, comprising Kanti, Krishna Kumar, Ashish Kumar, Sarvan Kumar, Vikash Kumar, and Gulnaz, checked the blood group and haemoglobin level of the students.Another doctor Madhu Singh explained the participants the advantages of blood donation. She said, “Donating blood is one of the most noble causes as you do not know whose life you are saving. I am happy that every year teacher trainees donate blood and help the needy.”
