Aurangabad: Four armed men stormed into a
Punjab National Bank Customer Service Point (CSP) at Pachhar Market under Rafiganj block of Aurangabad district on Wednesday and robbed the operator of Rs 2.8 lakh cash and a laptop.
The incident occurred around 1.30am, when CSP operator Raju Kumar Ranjan had just reached his centre. Two motorcycles carrying four assailants arrived at the spot. Brandishing pistols, the robbers threatened him and snatched away his bag containing the cash and laptop before fleeing towards Kasama.
Upon receiving information, in charge of Rafiganj police station, Shambhu Kumar and circle inspector S P Gupta rushed to the scene and began an investigation. Police recovered a live cartridge from the spot. Shambhu Kumar said multiple teams have been formed to identify and nab the culprits. CCTV camera footage from nearby locations is being scanned to trace the robbers’ route and ascertain their identities.
Police sources indicated that the incident appears to be a pre-planned crime, and local informers have been activated to gather clues about the gang’s movements.
