Gaya: A man with criminal antecedent was gunned down allegedly by his rivals in Gaya district on Tuesday evening. The deceased, identified as Vinod Kumar Yadav alias Veeru Don, a resident of Lavhari village, was attacked near Kalaua Mor under Barachatti police station.
According to police, he was shot five times — two each in the head and the face, and one in the chest.
He died on the spot. It is believed that he was killed during a liquor party as police have recovered liquor and beer cans from the spot. The deceased was accused in nine cases of Prohibition Act, Arms Act, assault and robbery. He had come out of the jail after securing a bail one and a half month ago.
Barachatti SHO Rupesh Kumar Sinha said, “We are trying to get some clue about those involved in the murder by scanning CCTV footages of the area.”
