PATNA: Injunction on the telecast of the TV serial “Ramkhilavan CM ‘n’ Family� would remain in force till “absolute� disposal of the title suit. This decision came from the court of sub-judge I, Patna, on Monday. Hearing in this case had concluded on Saturday and the court had fixed Monday to deliver its order.
A title suit was filed against SABe TV director Gautam Adhikari and others, including actor Vineet Kumar, enacting as Ramkhilavan in the controversial serial as the chief minister, actress Sushmita Mukherjee, playing the chief minister’s wife Imarti Devi and actor Sanjay Mishra, who has personified the character of Ramkhilavan’s sala (brother-in-law) Puttan Yadav in the serial, by a civil court advocate R R Pradhan on August 13 this year.
The title suit, valued Rs 31,000, was filed by Pradhan, along with an ad interim injunction petition, seeking a ban on the telecast of the serial. The court had granted an ad interim injunction on the telecast of the serial on August 19. Since then, the ban on tele-serial’s telecast has been operative.
SABe TV producer had filed a miscellaneous appeal in the court of district judge, Patna, against the ad interim injunction granted by the court of sub-judge I, but the district judge did not give any instant relief to the producers though directed the lower court to conclude hearing of the case within 10 days.
Hearing in this case could conclude in the court of sub-judge I on Saturday last only and since then, the people had been waiting eagerly for the court’s verdict.
