PATNA: The outgoing Patna DM, Manish Kumar Verma, on Sunday rewarded a local couple for showing exemplary compassion to a toddler who was separated from his family at the
Gandhi Maidan during the stampede on Friday. They were given a cheque of Rs25,000 for their ‘humanitarian’ act. Verma said the child was received by his paternal uncle Shashibhushan Kumar.

Kiran Kumari were searching for their son Roshan, 5, when they found a child named Anmol after the stampede. Kiran, after receiving the cheque, told reporters she took the child to a nearby temple where she waited while her husband was busy searching Roshan. Finally, Kiran’s missing child was found and the couple went back to their rented shelter in Daudbigaha locality.
