PATNA: The state police and the excise teams have become more vigilant following the recent hooch tragedy in Saran district. Raids are being conducted regularly to nab the liquor smugglers across the state.
In Muzaffarpur, a truck carrying foreign liquor was seized by the excise officials near Chandani Chowk under Ahiyapur police station on Thursday.

Abhinav Kumar said around 70 liquor suppliers, smugglers and boozers have been arrested in Muzaffarpur district in the last one week and over 3,000 litres of liquor seized and destroyed.

The Guthni police in Siwan district have recovered over 2,700 litres of liquor from two trucks. According to SHO Abhimanyu Kumar, liquor was brought from Haryana in a pack of bicycle rim. “Both the trucks were on way to Patna,” he added.
