Khan

said there were similarities between recent murders of policemen in the state, including two in Patna district. “Service guns were snatched from all the slain policemen, they were chased and shot from back on highways,” Khan added. Asked if Maoists were involved in Chaudhary’s murder, Khan said, “The area where the incident took place is not Maoist-affected. However, we are probing the incident from all angles.”

According to the post-mortem report, Chaudhary received five bullets – two in neck, two in chest and one in shoulder. “He was wearing raincoat when the criminals attacked him. His shoes were found in the side box of his motorcycle. This suggests that the policeman was probably killed at some other place and his body was dumped on the overbridge,” sources said.

Chaudhary was shot dead in uniform while he was on way to Fatuha railway station to board a train for Katihar. He was posted at

Telhara

police station in Nalanda.

Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj, who is heading the special investigation team probing the murder, said separate police teams have been conducting raids to arrest those involved in the crime.
