Cop accuses dad of killing mom in Gaya
GAYA: The mother of a sub-inspector was found dead with her throat slit, lying in a pool of blood at their rented flat in Civil Lines police station area of Gaya town on Tuesday morning.
Sub-inspector Preeti Kumari has lodged a complaint against her father Mukesh Kumar at the Civil Lines police station, where she herself is posted.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ashish Bharti said a police officer posted at the Civil Lines police station informed the station house officer in the morning that her father killed her mother Nirmala Devi (55). "After the incident, her father has also gone missing. A special investigation team, headed by city deputy superintendent of police Parasnath Sahu, has been constituted to conduct technical investigation into the murder. A team from forensic science laboratory was also sent to the spot," he said.
Police ckecked the apartment's CCTV footage, where Mukesh - who was undergoing treatment for some mental disorder - was seen leaving the premises in a hurry.
According to the complaint, the deceased had a quarrel with her husband on Monday night over some domestic issue.
A resident of Muzaffarpur district, Mukesh had taken voluntary retirement from his bank job and had been living with his wife and the policewoman daughter in Gaya.
