PATNA: AICC general secretary and in-charge of Bihar affairs Mukul Wasnik on Friday, while hinting at an all-out offence against the NDA government in the state, said that the party will come out with a 'chargesheet' against the Nitish Kumar government within two months.
"The chief minister is misleading the people by his claims. The ground reality is just opposite.
1x1 polls
Even on law and order front, more women are being raped. Government statistics prove it," Wasnik claimed.
He, however, evaded questions regarding action against three Congress MLAs who have proposed the candidature of Karnataka business tycoon B G Uday for Rajya Sabha (RS) polls. "The decision will be taken after a meeting of Congress MLAs here," Wasnik said.
Incidentally, the previous state Congress set-up had ruled out the possibility of supporting the RJD-LJP candidate in RS polls. However, the new AICC in-charge stressed that his party would be fighting the assembly polls all alone. "We will be fighting for the party in every village," he remarked.
Wasnik denied that there was factionalism in the party. "We are all united," he claimed. He played down the clash between former state party presidents Anil Kumar Sharma and Ram Jatan Sinha and their supporters on Thursday and attributed it to over enthusiasm on the first day he and the new state president Mehboob Ali Qaiser came to take charge. He also ducked a question related to entry of outsiders and giving them party tickets. "The entry of outsiders is prevalent in all political parties. But, we will give tickets to those who believe in the party values," Wasnik said, stressing that the normal process of selection of candidates starting with panel sent by district units will continue.
