PATNA: Congress MLC
Dilip Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday called on party president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi and sought leadership change in Bihar.
Briefing media about the meeting, Choudhary said he categorically explained to the party president that Congress was not going to make any headway in Bihar under the present state leadership and demanded suitable change for revival of the party in the state.
"The party president gave a patient hearing and assured me that she will look into the party's affairs in Bihar," Choudhary said.
Meanwhile, BPCC president Ashok Choudhary expressed happiness and gratitude to Sonia Gandhi over nomination of Madan Mohan Jha as Congress leader in Bihar Legislative Council. Congress has four members in the council, including Jha, BPCC president Ashok Choudhary, Ramchandra Bharti and Dilip Kumar Choudhary are other members of the party.
Before being elected to the council from Darbhanga teachers' constituency in the recent election, Jha represented erstwhile Manigachhi constituency in the state assembly for two consecutive terms (from 1985 to 1995). Other senior Congress leaders who expressed happiness over elevation of Jha include the BPCC vice president Subodh Kumar, general secretaries Vinod Sharma, Jaeya Mishra and Nagendra Paswan Vikal and Treasurer Sanjay Sinha.
