Coming soon: Tej’s ‘Rudra’
PATNA: RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s elder son and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav is all set to try his luck afresh in movies.
The first-time MLA on Tuesday night shared a poster of his upcoming film ‘Rudra: The Avatar’ on instagram. On Wednesday morning, he posted another poster on his twitter account.
One of the posters features Tej wearing a tee shirt and a pair of sunglasses and posing in a forest. The other poster has his bust-size photo, again wearing sunglasses. Beneath the title ‘Rudra: The Avatar’ is written ‘comming (sic) soon’ in English and ‘Hindi film’ in Hindi.
Tej told this reporter on Wednesday it would be a Bihar-centric movie, shot entirely in the state. “I will share the details at a press conference soon,” he said and added the movie would be released across the country this year itself.
Sources said the film would be about youth in politics. “The title was apparently suggested by Tej, who is a known Lord Shiva devotee,” a Tej aide said and pointed out Rudra is the synonym for Shiva.
Tej earlier played a chief minister in a Bhojpuri film, ‘Apaharan Udyog’, in 2016 when he was the state minister holding the portfolios of health and environment. The movie, however, could not be released.
He also made headlines when he was seen dressed up as Lord Krishna and playing a flute on the New Year day in 2017. Just prior to his marriage with late CM Daroga Prasad Rai’s granddaughter Aishwarya Rai on May 12 this year, he was shown as Lord Shiva and Aishwarya as Parvati in a poster that was put up at few places in Patna in the run-up to the wedding.
