'CM taking credit for central schemes'

PATNA: State Congress has taken exception to the Nitish government appropriating the centrally-sponsored schemes and presenting them as the schemes of the state government. It has decided that the party's Flagship Monitoring Committee will lodge its protest at the sites of centrally-sponsored schemes if they were not being implemented properly.
This was stated at a press conference jointly addressed here by the chairman of Flagship Monitoring Committee Vijay Shankar Mishra, former Union minister Dasai Chaudhary, BPCC media department convener HK Verma, senior spokesman Prabhat Kumar Singh and Motilal Sharma.
They claimed that the 16 ambitious centrally-sponsored schemes like Indira Awas Yojana, MNREGA, Mid-Day Meal, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, JNNURM, National Rural Health Mission, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana etc were not being implemented properly in Bihar.
The leaders demanded that the state government put up notice boards wherever central schemes were being implemented. If this was not done within 15 days, the party itself would put up boards to inform people about the reality of developmental works in the state. They also alleged that the funds received from the Centre during last fiscal under the National Horticulture Mission were being used by the state government to launch tree plantation drive and appropriate the credit for JD (U).
It was announced that the party's central leadership has appointed Abhas Kumar Jha and ex-MP Sukhdeo Paswan as members of the state Flagship Monitoring Committee.
Meanwhile, AICC secretary and in-charge, Bihar, Sanjay Nirupam will arrive here on Sunday and hold a meeting with party leaders at Sadaquat Ashram, the state Congress headquarters, in the afternoon.
