MADHEPURA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inaugurated the famous fair of faith at scared shrine of Baba Bishu Raut , the folk God of cattle owners, at remote Pachrasi village located on the northern bank of river Kosi under Chausa block in Madhepura district.
This fair is organized here every year in this month where cattle owners from riverine areas of Ganga and Kosi offer milk at the shrine.
The CM was accompanied by his cabinet colleagues-Narendra Narayan Yadav and Bima Bharti and other leaders of his party including Renu Kushwaha, Ramesh Rishideo, RJD MP Pappu Yadav and MLA Chandrashekhar .
Nitish also inaugurated different welfare schemes. It is the second visit of Nitish Kumar at the shrine on this auspicious occasion.
He had visited the shrine after becoming chief minister in 2005. He had then promised to construct a bridge over Kosi to link Naugachhiya of Ang area with Vijay Ghat of Kosi.
The bridge is now near completion.
