CM inspects skill park facilities in Patna, interacts with trainees
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inspected the ‘Dakshata Bhawan’ of BIPARD Skill Park located on the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) campus in the state capital.
During the visit, the CM reviewed the training programmes being run at the Skill Park, inspected residential and mess facilities for trainees, and issued necessary directions to officials. He also interacted with trainees in classrooms and encouraged them to focus on skill acquisition. “The govt is committed to creating employment opportunities for the youth. Several initiatives have been taken to make Bihar’s youth self-reliant through skill development and technical training,” Nitish said.
The CM also inspected the Himadri Hostel and reviewed facilities in other hostels. He stressed the need to keep the campus well-organised and ensure proper arrangements for trainees.
According to an official communiqué, six major programmes are being conducted at the BIPARD Skill Park, Patna campus, aimed at training govt employees and promoting skill development and employment among youth. These include Systems Applications and Products, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Geriatric Care Giver, Fashion Designing, Commis, and Assistant Baking Technician.
Trainees are provided free accommodation, meals, training kits, and uniforms. In addition, they receive training in English and foreign languages such as German, French, Spanish, and Japanese to enhance their employability.
“So far, apart from govt employees, 667 youth have undergone capacity-building training, of whom 204 have secured employment in India and abroad,” the communiqué said.
Water resources minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary; principal secretary to the CM, Deepak Kumar; chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit; additional chief secretary (general administration) and director general of BIPARD B Rajender; secretaries to the CM Kumar Ravi and Chandrashekhar Singh; youth, employment and skill development secretary Kaushal Kishor; DM Thiyagarajan S M, SSP Kartikey K Sharma, and other senior officials were present.
