Nitish Kumar on Thursday resolved to strengthen State Planning Board and convert A N Sinha Institute of Social Studies into a centre of excellence. He was chairing the meeting of the board.
The CM directed officials to make a register of all the properties of the government and start the work on a pilot basis from Patna. The meeting discussed the plan for the districts for 2011-12, and Nitish asked officials to decentralize the scheme.
He said the planning board should hold workshops and exhibitions on techniques and alternative materials for house construction.
The meeting was attended by board vice-chairman Hari Kishore Singh, chief secretary Anup Mukherjee, development commissioner K C Saha, agriculture production commissioner A K Sinha, principal secretaries of finance, general administration, environment and forest, home, social welfare and planning, CM's secretaries S Siddhartha and Chanchal Kumar and OSD Gopal Singh.
The CM directed to nominate ministers of certain departments as invitees to the board meetings and constitute small subcommittees of officials for seeking their suggestions and incorporating them in the policy. He asked the officials to plant trees on their land in their respective native villages to help achieve the target of 15% green cover in the state.
