Nitish Kumar on Wednesday issued necessary directives for expediting the implementation of the CM Regional Development Scheme at a meeting of the department of planning and development chaired by him.
The meeting was attended by planning and development minister Narendra Narayan Yadav, chief secretary Anup Mukherjee, principal secretary, planning and development department, Vijay Prakash, development commissioner K C Saha and other senior officials.
Prakash said that the works under this scheme would be funded by the state government and for its implementation, district level committees would be formed. The in-charge minister of the district would be the president of the district committee and the DM would be member secretary. The other members would be local MLAs and MLCs, he said. Under this scheme, panchayat bhawans, anganwadi centres, lanes, drains, godowns, kala manch etc would be constructed, he said. He added that 85 per cent of the fund under the scheme would be spent in rural areas and 15 per cent in urban areas.
