CM announces free bus travel for NEET re-exam candidates
Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Saturday announced free travel on all govt buses across Bihar for candidates appearing in the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. The move is aimed at easing travel for students heading to examination centres across the state.
In a post on X, Samrat said district administrations had been asked to coordinate arrangements at key transit points to facilitate smooth movement of candidates and their guardians. He also appealed to temples, monasteries and non-governmental organisations to support the initiative by helping provide drinking water and “sattu” for examinees and their parents.
The facilities are to be made available at bus stands, railway stations and other major locations where candidates are expected to gather or pass through during their journey to examination centres.
The NTA recently fixed June 21 for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination. The test was earlier conducted on May 3 but was later cancelled following allegations of a paper leak, triggering concern among students and parents across the country.
The CBI is currently probing the matter and examining the circumstances that led to the cancellation of the examination.
