Patna: Education minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday asked the universities to work in coordination with the state education department and dispose of all the pending issues in the larger interest of higher education.
Addressing a meeting of the vice-chancellors, registrars and examination controllers of all the universities here, Choudhary also asked the department officials not to create bottlenecks in disposal of files relating to the development of universities. Education department’s additional chief secretary Dipak Kumar Singh, secretary Asangba Chuba Ao and higher education director Rekha Kumari also addressed the meeting.
The minister directed the universities to clear the backlog of pending examinations of 2021-22 sessions by this year end. Even the examinations of vocational courses will be completed by December with a view to regularising the academic sessions of all the universities.
A detailed discussion on the status of accreditation of universities and colleges by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was held. The VCs of JP, Veer Kunwar Singh, B N Mandal and Nalanda Open universities were asked to expedite NAAC accreditation process of their respective institutions.
The newly established Patliputra, Munger and Purnea universities were also directed to initiate steps for getting NAAC accreditation.
