Civic body dy chairperson’shubby shot at in Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur: Two bike-borne miscreants shot at Ramdhani Yadav, husband of deputy chairperson of Sultanganj Nagar Parishad, Neelam Devi, when he was sitting outside his shop at by-pass road under Sultanganj police station limits, in Bhagalpur district on Thursday.
Police said the incident took place around 11am. Two youths riding a motorcycle reached Yadav’s shop and asked him for directions to Bhagalpur.While he was doing so, one of the bike riders took out a gun and shot him from close range and fled from the spot. A profusely bleeding Yadav was first taken to Sultanganj referral hospital and then shifted to JLNMCH. The condition of Yadav, who received a bullet wound in his stomach, is stated to be serious.
“Prima facie, the incident appears to be a fallout of personal enmity. We have arrested the main accused, identified as Prashant of Bariarpur village, and he is being interrogated. The other accused is absconding,” said Bhagalpur SSP Anand Kumar. However, he did not rule out a political rivalry angle.
The SSP has formed a special investigation team (SIT) led by DSP (law and order) Gaurav Kumar. “The SIT is conducting raids to nab the absconder along with the conspirator. We will soon unearth the reason behind the shooting,” Kumar said.
