: Five armed criminals wearing masks barged into the house of one Raju Kumar Singh at Jagdev Nagar under Masaurhi police station area and decamped with cash and valuables after holding his family hostage on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

, in her police complaint, claimed that the robbers held the couple and their two kids as hostage at gunpoint and looted items worth about Rs6 lakh.

According to the complainant, the miscreants searched the house for half an hour and took away Rs50,000 in cash, jewellery worth Rs4 lakh, three mobile phones, TV set and two ATM cards.
Theft in ex-CM’s house: Thieves decamped with ornaments and valuables worth Rs5 lakh from the house of former CM late Chandrashekhar Singh under Malaypur police station area in Jamui district. His nephew Himanshu Shekhar lodged a police complaint after he found several items missing from their ancestral home.
He said the family members live in Patna. A caretaker was appointed to look after the locked house. When they reached there on Wednesday and entered inside the house, they saw the belongings scattered on the floor.

Man dies in accident: A railway worker died when a truck loaded with railway track materials hit a haiwa near Horil Bigha under Shahjahanpur police station area in Patna on Thursday.
The truck fell in a water-filled pit and Mohd Chotu of Samastipur died on the spot while 11 other were badly injured. The truck was coming from Jharkhand towards Samastipur, the officials said.
