Buxar all set to get new light and sound centre soon
Buxar: Buxar is set to get a cultural makeover with a new light-and-sound centre featuring a laser-based Ramayana presentation. Developed at a cost of Rs85 lakh, the project is nearing completion ahead of CM Nitish Kumar’s proposed visit on March 10. The administration has accelerated renovation and beautification work to showcase the city’s historical and religious heritage through a modern audio-visual experience.Officials said the upgraded facility, equipped with advanced laser technology, will present a grand depiction of the Ramayana along with highlights of Buxar’s cultural legacy. District magistrate (DM) Sahila has reviewed progress multiple times, issued strict quality directives, and inspected several trial runs of the laser show.

The revamped complex will feature a well-equipped theatre with a seating capacity of around 200, where plays, cultural programmes and other events will be organised. The campus will also include landscaped lawns, flower beds and decorative lighting to enhance its appeal, especially during evening hours.Additional facilities under construction include improved seating arrangements, adequate parking, a VIP lounge, a security room and other essential infrastructure.
Assistant architect Anmol Ratan said the construction is being carried out as per the approved blueprint with emphasis on durability and quality. “Civil works are progressing under the supervision of Buxar Nagar Parishad executive engineer Rajan Kumar, assistant engineer Vandana Kumari and junior engineer Prateek Kumar. The administration is confident the project will be completed within the stipulated timeframe. Earlier renovation attempts had fallen short, but this phase is being executed with detailed planning and expert oversight to ensure lasting impact,” he said.Rajkumar Chaubey, president of Vishwamitra Sena, said the centre has the potential to strengthen Buxar’s cultural identity and boost tourism. With modern technology and Ramayana-based presentations, the facility will serve not only as an entertainment hub but also as a platform to highlight the city’s historical, cultural and religious significance.
